Services for Job Seekers
Research. Spend time to review your own background, work interests, personal lifestyle, and income target. This does not mean to "just get a better job" doing what you do now, or "get a better boss," or "make more money." Develop a Resume. This is your life story and it should be professional looking, substantive and truthful. Remember, in order to get the job, you have to take the interview and the way you get an interview is with a good resume. Prepare for the Interview. This involves preparing for interview questions, and other tips to the process. Networking. Once you have done your research, built your resume and practiced for the interview, put it to the test. A good way to start is to contact as many people in key areas that you can think of, and start having "informational interviews" and practice, but also get opinions that will confirm/deny you target company/job search. You will also get the word out that you are looking for a job and you will be developing additional contacts in key companies through these contacts, and most jobs are filled today through personal contacts and employee referrals. The Interview Process. Taking the interview is only part of the process. There is a lot of work to be done after the interview. Once you have that ideal job, please remember to be a good resource for others that contact you for help, and further their network. Also, if you will be hiring other employees in the future, please think of Aspen Recruiting for your recruiting needs.
